Paradigm Lee
I realized I wasn't comfortable showing my face or revealing my name on social media.
So, I conceptualized and illustrated a persona and created an alias to help me be comfortable online.
This turned out to be Paradigm Lee. Working on them also helped in figuring out my workflow as a character designer and as a VTuber model creator.
Paradigm Lee as a character is inspired by my sleepy nature and my love for reading. This heavily influenced the character's job in their world.
Along with them are library helpers named Kompanyas, which are inspired by the Filipino word for company, the kompeito candy, my love for cats and a famous game called Among Us.
From One Came Two
This story takes place in a world where Lee's form of art is highly frowned upon.
Despite the warnings of her father figure, Jabez, she continues and later faces the consequences — being split into two.
LLS: Oolap
Taken on as a team during NSTP, our client needed promotional materials for both print and social media.
We were briefed that we would have to make a mascot for them as well to appeal to a younger audience.
We thought of different environmental icons including plants, items, and — the one we landed on — clouds. As a team, we decided to go with the first design I illustrated.
As I pitched my version of the cloud mascot, I emphasized the usage of textures, while still keeping it minimalist and simple to mimic for the entire illustration team.
I was assigned the gardening illustrations with a group mate to collaborate with. As we went on, we called it Oolap for fun and it eventually stuck throughout the process.
Additional jobs came after completing the character design. I was given the amazing opportunity to design the pamphlet cover to which I pitched 3 sketches.
Revision after revision, we got to the final cover design! Smaller icons appear on the mind globe which are also the topics planned in the pamphlet.
With the whole layout finished, the final look was presented to the client and fulfilled their project needs.
Our new environmental friend and produced materials have been utilized in their social media posts.
Deep Blue
This is a personal project involving an alternate universe (AU) story including content creators.
I found it difficult to fully visualize characters' outfits when writing, so I drew them myself.
As I had many characters to design, I made use of shape language and combined it into the silhouette blocking to make sure that their designs were different from each other while still being cohesive enough in the alternate universe.
Writing down the symbols associated with each creator helped guide the process.
It did prove at times to be difficult to sort and pick from later on due to the relevance and applicability in the story as a feature.
I went on to outline the look and feel of the outfit based on this knowledge and plotted out the weight of the clothing by lining down textures.
Along the same lines, I adjust the sizes and colors of parts, making sure that the outfit suits the character’s personality.
As I moved on to the other characters, it started to get hard to pick which association to base the
design on.
The content creator for the second character, Tubbo, has numerous themes that they are tied to much like goats, bees, and his regular outfit — a green button up.
I realized I needed to move away from his previous era and minimized the usage of green and goat-like features.
This resulted in me giving him a Philippine boy scout inspired neckerchief slide in the shape of a goat head paired with a bee fuzz neckerchief.
Designing the outfit for the third content creator, Ranboo, was easier in the sense that I knew what he was popular for — an enderman hybrid based from Minecraft.
Difficulties arose when arranging the colors to match the role of being one of the causes of their group spliting.
In the end, I saw that the right most color variation would give a righteous but cryptic aura, accomplishing the design goal for the character’s outfit.
ACPI: Holidays
With internships being pushed toward us, I signed with the Animation Council of the Philippines with a few like-minded classmates.
The first project handed to us illustrators was to design the company’s upcoming social media posts for each holiday of the year.
I didn’t know what to expect when I started out my internship with ACPI. Being assigned to illustrate numerous holidays with their
mascot — Anikid — I quickly sketched down thumbnails before showing them to my superiors with more questions on how I could capture what they needed.
Directed back on track, I followed through with the details they suggested and improved on most of the compositions before moving on to the linework and colors.
As this was not my only project to finish in the company, I had learned that they were using flowy decorations for other posts the others were designing.
Following suit, I kept the flow going and was able to finish the holidays assigned to me.

Dear Humeown
Created as part of my thesis and from being a long-time cat owner, I saw that new cat owners here in the Philippines had trouble getting credible cat care knowledge that is locally contextualized.
After doing my research, I decided that this project needed to be fun and energetic to reach the base target audience I had in mind — Generation Z.
Cats are usually hard to read and by bringing cats in to talk about cat care in the place of vets, the project has a casual yet catching personality. With new Gen Z cat owners in mind, Instagram was the best place to host this content.
The expert cats in question were three cats, varying in age and way of speech assisted by their human owner. While their human stays called Humeown, I settled in calling the three cats their role fitting names — Felix, Yen and Alon.
The four of them proceeded to be included in the materials, being illustrated, voiced by actors and laid-out for the purpose of conveying information to the audience on Instagram. We made use of IG stories, the carousel feature, reels, as well as the story archive to file the information in an organized manner.
